Tom, this is so cool. I'm happy that this has worked for you! It sounds like a completely perspective-changing experience - in a word, enlightening. It was great talking with you about it, and now, reading about it and following your journey. I'm really happy for you. Here's to a fulfilling life, whatever the lifestyle.
Very cool Tom. I enjoy reading your articles and posts and following your adventures. I’ve had of few of my own - living on a Navy ship for three years, then aboard a 39 foot long boat for a year many years later, followed by another year in a 35 foot travel trailer. And I miss the lifestyle even now…
I am curious though - why the car - vs getting a van, Box truck etc. ?
With a sprinter or small box truck you’d have far more comfort and still have all the other benefits you currently have (carry an e-bike or scooter onboard for travel to and from work and errands and use the van/truck as a mothership).
I’m guessing the main reason you chose a car is simply because that is what you already had?
Anyway, just my own thoughts and opinions - I look forward to your next post my friend!

I addressed this issue in my article "7 Reasons Why I'm Not Upgrading to a Van" (https://tomwheeler99.substack.com/p/7-reasons-why-im-not-upgrading-to). Once I've achieved my goal of having a mortgage-free home, I plan to save for a van to travel in after I retire.
